Something hit our lawn last night too.  I assumed it was turkeys. I can usually smell when a skunk has been around and I've never seen a raccoon in our yard.

However, I can't offer any advice. Between the moles/voles attacking from below and deer, turkeys, squirrels attacking from above, I've all but given up on the yard.

Has anyone else been experiencing their grass being dug up by perhaps a skunk or a raccoon during the night time hours?  Our lawn (front and back) has recently been targeted.  We’ve tried spraying pepper spray on our lawn, but that doesn’t seem to help.  Any ideas of how to  keep these pests away (in a humane way of course) would be greatly appreciated.
